What you may not know is that these familiar book donation bins are now part of Bay State Book Company. Through the transition of Discover Books’ Collection Bins, Bay State Books has expanded its ability to keep books in circulation, support literacy initiatives, and provide responsible book recycling solutions for communities, libraries, and organizations across the region. While the Discover Books name may still appear on the bin, the mission remains the same: give every book the opportunity for a second life.

Bay State Books Builds on Discover Books to Expand Donation Options

The change from Discover Books to Bay State Books was more than a new name on the bins or trucks that do pick-ups. It strengthened and expanded donation services for communities throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and other New England areas. 

Libraries who once relied on Discover Books can now count on Bay State Book Company for regular pick-ups for leftover book sale items, weeding sessions, and patron donations. Hardcover or paperback, fiction or nonfiction, textbooks, biographies, children’s books, board books, classics, self-help, travel guides, cookbooks, sheet music — if it has pages and something to share, we will take it. We also accept DVDs and CDs.
